She Saw The Light

She Saw The Light

Why do you insist on feeding on me like I’m a teenage girl? I do not have the patience to submit myself to the confrontation you require. Blunt objects could not crush a skull so thick and I am too weak to swing something that would only accomplish a dent. I don’t hide, fair enough. But I don’t wait outside your door, doe-eyed and dumb. Please go away. Leave me alone. I don’t wish to lock my doors. I want only that you have the dignity to let me be. I can’t help the fact that I’m naturally drawn to stark white rooms with evening ghosts and padded furnishings. Perhaps some part of my mind wanted to give way to insanity, you know, just for the hell of it. And the rest of my mind said, “Well that just won’t do.” In the end there was compromise, where one side pretends without the other side knowing.
