How Submission Works

Everyone in the World is welcome to submit art, join the Artocrats community and click the submit link.

If your submission meets all of our specifications and does not conflict with any of our rules, your artwork will be posted on the site to be voted on by the Artocrats community over the next 90 days. (Please note, your artwork will remain posted on the site until you choose to remove it.) At the end of each month, rating results will be tabulated and if your artwork is a top scoring submission it will be printed and made available for purchase and to our users who have purchased a Monthly Membership. The number of top scoring submissions printed each month will be determined based off of how many users are active on the site, how Monthly Memberships have been purchased, how many users marked an image as "I Would Buy This", as well as other factors.

How do I submit art?

Before submitting your artwork you will need to get high resolution images of your work. The minimum resolution that we are able to accept due to print quality restrictions is SIZE.

For more information on how you can take high resolution of photographs or scans of your work, please read our clicking here.

If you have never submitted art to Artocrats before, you will first need to complete a few steps: You will need to input your shipping address, so that if your submission is selected for printing we ship you Letters of Authenticity [LINK] to be signed. Also you will need to read through and check that you agree to additional Terms and Conditions, which you can read about in our Submission Terms and Agreements FAQ, or you can read the full Submission Terms & Agreements.

Once you have completed these steps, you will be taken to the submit art page, where you will upload your image and provide us with the following information:

    The Title of your artwork
A brief description of your artwork
The general Category your artwork belongs in
The original Medium your artwork was made in
What Paper Size you would like the print to be produced in
What Paper Type you would like the print to be produced in
And, any relevant tags related to your work

For more information on any of these information fields see the explanations below.

Finally, you will need to click the "Choose File" button to navigate to your image file on your computer.

If you are only uploading one submission, click Submit and your done!

If you are uploading multiple submission, we recommend batch submitting. Click the Add Another button and you can continue to add up to five submission, and then upload them all at once by clicking the bottom-most submit button.

Because we require high resolution images it may take up to several minutes for your images to upload depending on your connection speed.

What's a Description?

A description of your work can be essentially anything that is meaningful to you in relation to the piece. It could be a manifesto about what your artwork means. It could be an overview of how you created the piece. Or, you can leave this field blank if you feel your artwork speaks for itself.

What's a Category?

A category is a very broad description of where your art fits into different types of artistic expression. For example, if your artwork involves paint on a flat surface, it probably would be broadly categorized as a painting. For a full list of Categories, check out our Categories page.

What's a Medium?

A medium is a very specific description of the materials you used in producing your original artwork. For example, if you're a photographer who works with traditional film, your original artwork medium may be a silver gelatin print. Our system will suggest a medium for you once you start typing, but if you don't see your medium pop up, feel free to write a new one.

What type of information should I add as a tag?

The tags field is a great place to add information about where a photograph was taken, whether your painting is surrealist or photo-realist, and any other information related to the content of your work. And feel free to add multiple tags. For example, a Black & White Photography submission could easily have all of the following tags: soft focus, nude, portrait, flowers, beautiful. To add multiple tags, just separate each word or phrase with a comma.

Can a tag be two words or three words?

Yes.

Why does it take so long to upload an image?

In order to produce the highest quality prints possible, we need you to upload high resolution images. And unfortunately, high resolution images are very large files. If you are trying to upload multiple submissions, we highly recommend that you use our batch uploader by clicking the Add Another button.

My browser times-out before I can upload an image. What should I do?

Hopefully this won't be a problem, but unfortunately if you are using a slower internet connection such as dial-up you may need to use a high-speed internet connection such as cable or DSL to be able to upload images.
